Sidari Corfu

Sidari Corfu – Coves and exceptionally calm shallow water
The beach is divided into three parts. The main beach is the central stretch, a long sandy bay. water is remarkably calm and extremely shallow, making this a favourite with children and swimmers.
Watersports are available. Other Sidari beaches are found near the harbour to the east and the famous coves of the Canal D'Amour to the west. The Canal D’Amour is an area of eroding sandstone cliffs that have formed several tiny sand and shingle coves reached by paths and even ladders. Those furthest from the resort are the quietest. Tourist could also explore fine beaches in Roda (north Corfu) and to the west of Sidari, both short drives.
Corfu Sidari – Plenty of entertainment
The nightlife is definitely on the lively side with a lot of tavernas offering Greek and British food as well as innumerable cafes, music bars and clubs. Sidari has plenty of shops that open until late.
Tourist in Sidari can take the opportunity to walk along the cliffs and explore inland to find quaint unspoilt Corfu villages. Fascinating historic Corfu Town can be reached by bus, along with the resorts of Kassiopi and Agios Stefanos. Other favourite Sidari excursions include the resort of Paleokastritsa and boat trips to the islands of Paxos and Erikoussa.

Corfu Holiday Choices

One of the first Greek islands to suffer from vulgar mass tourism in the 1960s, Corfu (also named as Korfu) has squandered much of its natural beauty to demands of cut-price holiday firms. Beautiful bays have been scarred by cheap hotels, happy hour bars and noisy discos. Yet some of the loveliest beaches in Corfu and most romantic villages can be found just a few minutes walk away. The remote west, in particular, can still lay claim to unspoiled beaches and some impossibly beautiful scenery.
corfu
A favourite since Victorian times Corfu is still the most popular Greek island for Brits. Around 490,000 went at the last count, more than Crete or Rhodes and 10,000 Brits now live there.
Cheap air travel once made it a major target of downmarket package holiday firms and in the 70s its lager-and-chips reputation was a byword for the vulgar face of the British abroad. Cement replaced cypress as heartless hotels and sprawling holiday resorts proliferated. Corfu beaches were scarred and once-peaceful hamlets heaved with the cream of the UK's brain dead drunks. Fortunately the worst was contained along the narrow coastal strip north and south of Corfu town, leaving many parts of the island relatively unscathed. That said beaches are some of the best in Greece and with 31 of them designated blue flag they are the cleanest and safest. Corfu resorts that avoided the cement mixer are still the loveliest in Greece and the regenerated Corfu town itself is one of the finest, if most expensive
to be found in the Greek islands. North Corfu is dominated by mountains while the centre and south are home to lush farmland and islanders that are famously friendly - even by Greek standards. Corfu is also the nearest Greek island to the UK with around three hours flight time.

Sidari overview
Sidari is the most famous tourist resort of north Corfu and one of the places that every visitor of the island have to see. It is found in distance 32 km away from the city. Sidari has acquired world reputation, which it owes in famous "Canal d’ Amour". It is an infrequent natural phenomenon. It is an underground path between two rocks that the visitor can easily walk to, due to shallow waters. This point is recommended for diving. There are many caves under the canal. Sidari beach has been awarded with the Blue Flag.
The beach is really wonderful. The white carven rocks that look like natural sculptures and the light blue waters compose an exotic view. Except, from the Canal d’ Amour, in Sidari you will also swim in the small coves that take shape between the rocks and give the sense of private beach. This is one from the first regions of Corfu that developed their tourist infrastructures. Nowardays, in the region function hotels and rented rooms. There are many choice for entertainment. Every summer over than 5.000 tourists are visiting Sidari and most of them are British. In Sidari the excavations have through in the light the relic of a settlement from the Neolithic period
